My career began in Kenya, where I worked in finance roles across audit, law, architecture, motor repair, and retail. By my late twenties, I launched my own accountancy practice, scaling it from 5 clients to 200 in just two years while employing 18 staff. At the same time, I became Group Finance & Commercial Director of Steadman Group, helping the business grow revenues 20-fold and expand internationally.
Alongside this, I represented Kenya at the ACCA International Assembly in London, earned my MBA in Finance, and qualified as a Fellow of both ACCA and CIMA. I also began working with boards on governance, strategy, and leadership alignment — improving tone at the top and driving performance gains.
In 2003, I moved to the UK, sold my practice, and retrained under Dr John Carver, becoming one of fewer than 300 global consultants in Policy Governance. After struggling initially, I pivoted to building online leadership and finance programmes, several of which received the UKTI “Green Light” award.
Over the years, I’ve worked with CEOs and boards across manufacturing, logistics, energy, finance, and retail, delivering tangible results:
